our projects

learn EAST is currently working on the following projects:

Engage and Enable - Closed 31/10/2011

"This project will support the further development of Learn East by helping to develop websites / web pages offering information and resources linking with a new learn EAST site. The project will also provide capacity to ensure that the partnership lead organisations have enough capacity to ensure the websites and communication mechanisms are kept updated for the duration of the project. This also includes ensuring capacity to allow engagement with the regional project and representation on the Regional Skills Advisory Group and learn EAST partnerships”

LSIS Learn East Consortia Project - Closed 31/10/2011

The Learn East Consortia Project (LeaP), funded by the LSIS Regional Response Fund, will help civil society providers professionalise their relationship to procurement and the provision of learning. It will enable small specialist community organisations to work with mainstream providers to offer high quality learning, work placements, apprenticeships and volunteering to adults at work or looking for work.

'Help in a Box'

The Help in a Box resource is designed to help you, as the Commissioner or Prime Contractor know as much as you can about the voluntary sector and what it can offer you in the delivery of learning and skills across the Eastern Region.

This resource tells you more about:

  • The voluntary sector – What it is, where to find it and how it can help you;
  • The benefits and strengths of the voluntary sector in working with the hardest
    to reach learners;
  • How to get the best out of your commissioning relationship with the sector;
  • Other sources of help and support in working with the sector, and
  • Sign posting to more information.

It explains how the voluntary sector is particularly good at reaching some of those
groups which are the hardest to reach, and includes a range of examples and case
studies which we hope will demonstrate just how good the sector is at delivering
learning and skills to some of these groups.
