news - New Third Sector PhD Scholarship
Information below on a new Third Sector PhD Scholarship
opportunity.
The closing date for application is 7th May 2010.
We are delighted to let you know that we are working with
Cranfield School of Management to support a major new
research programme on third sector performance measurement.
Funding will be provided for a student to study for a PhD
under the title of 'Performance Measurement in the Third
Sector' starting in September.
The PhD will be supervised by Cranfield's Centre for
Business Performance led by Professor Mike Bourne and will
review and map existing practice, increase understanding of
the processes and challenges of non profit performance
measurement and develop tools and techniques for non profits
to embed performance management activities within their
organisations.
This investment complements our existing commitment to offer
scholarship places for people working in the third sector on
Cranfield's prestigious MBA programmes, which is now in its
seventh year.
The successful candidate will be registered as a full time
PhD student within Cranfield School of Management for 4
years from September 2010. Full-time fees will be paid in
addition to a bursary of £13,500 per year to cover living
expenses.
We are looking for an exceptional voluntary sector manager
to take up the scholarship and would be very grateful if you
could forward this to anyone who you think may be
interested.
Candidates should, in the first instance, express their
interest by submitting a CV setting out their previous
experience and any further information that would support
their application to
wendy.habgood@cranfield.ac.uk by Friday 7th May. For an
informal discussion about the project contact Professor Mike
Bourne on 01234 754514. Full details of the PhD programme
can be found on the website
www.som.cranfield.ac.uk/som/doctorates.
Please do feel free to contact me if you would like any
further details of this or any other aspect of our work.
With best wishes,
