events - Are They Safe Pack familiarization day

Target: Those supporting community groups and third sector
organisations, who have;

Some knowledge and experience of training or facilitating
learning or group work

Some knowledge of safeguarding issues
Safe Network’s Are they Safe? pack, is a toolkit full of easy to
use materials for
community and voluntary groups and organisations. The
resource includes a step by
step guide, a DVD and other information to help managers,
staff and volunteers who
provide activities to children and young people feel
confident about what they need to
do to safeguard children effectively.
This includes specifically development staff, from; Councils
for Voluntary Youth
Services, Rural Community Councils, Community Foundations,
Play, Early Years
Faith and BME networks and associations and Councils for
Voluntary Services,
including Voluntary Actions and Community Actions in the
East of England
The aim of the workshops is to familiarize participants with
the resource and to explore
how they can use it to improve safeguarding practice with
the groups they
support. Participants will be able to run similar workshops
and /or small group or one to
one work using the Safe Network branding for others in their
local areas
This workshop is free; however delegates will need to make a
commitment to
delivering support via the use of the pack and at least one
workshop in their local areas
upon completion of the training, which will be supported by
